Let’s Talk About Steak

We get asked all the time about our favorite steaks. It varies from person to person, but almost everyone that works here prefers a ribeye steak over any other kind. The marbling makes it juicy and tender. Lots of people like to grill their steaks, and good for them. Grilled steaks are delicious. I, however, like to pan sear and bake mine. It keeps them juicy, and they taste awesome.

Pan Seared Ribeye Steak

Ingredients

  • Ribeye steak
  • salt & pepper
  • hot paprika (or regular paprika)
  • garlic

*You can use whatever spices you want. This is my go-to mix. We sell a few steak seasonings that are really good.

  • oil or butter

Directions

Heat your oven to 375 degrees.

Once it’s preheated, add oil (or butter) to your cast iron skillet, and heat. If you have a sensitive smoke alarm, you’re going to want to open some windows and possibly a sliding glass door because it does get smokey. Your skillet should be on a medium to high heat. You want your skillet nice and hot so your steak is browned.

Season your steak with the salt, pepper, hot paprika, and garlic. Once your skillet is good and hot (test with a drop of water – sizzles, it’s hot enough), add your steak.

Cook for 3 minutes, and flip. Cook for another 3 minutes, and transfer the skillet to the oven. Bake for 5-10 minutes. The rarer you want your steak, the less time it takes to cook it. Let it rest for five minutes before serving. Enjoy!
